Our Association

The Louisiana FFA Association was chartered by the National FFA Organization in 1930.  The Association has a current membership of 9,884 members in 191 chapters.  FFA chapters are established in 47 parishes, 2 independent school districts, and 1 parochial school.  FFA is found in both rural and urban areas with chapters being located in or very near the cities of Alexandria, Baton Rouge, Houma-Thibodaux, Lafayette, Lake Charles, and Monroe. Collegiate chapters of FFA are chartered at Louisiana State University and A&M College, Louisiana Tech University, and McNeese State University.

The Louisiana FFA Association is led by the state officer team, ten students who are high school seniors or no more than two years out of high school, consisting of a president, one vice president from each of the four FFA areas of Louisiana, a secretary, a treasurer, a reporter, a sentinel, and a parliamentarian. In addition, adult guidance and leadership is provided by the state executive secretary and four area advisors.  Chapter members serve as delegates to the state convention, elect the state officers and area advisors, and conduct official business.

This is a very exciting time for Louisiana FFA as the Association is experiencing growth, a surge of new opportunities for its members, and increasing support from the community and former members.  Our annual State FFA Convention continues to develop into one of the premier state conventions in the nation highlighted by our action-packed general sessions and our ever-growing career show.  Louisiana FFA members are taking advantage of new leadership opportunities through our state delegate process.  Former members and FFA supporters are providing bright futures for our current FFA members by becoming involved with our jump-started Alumni and Foundation.2006-2007 State FFA Officers on Business and Industry Tour at Cargill in Port Allen

Agriculture is the wave of the future.  Today's agriscience students will be the leaders and innovators of tomorrow who will be responsible for ensuring a safe and stable food and fiber supply for the growing world population.  Louisiana FFA is at the forefront of preparing students for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success in agriculture and many other industries.
